Page Springs Winery

Page Spings WineryPage Springs is a family owned winery in the Verde Valley of central Arizona.  At Page Springs Cellars, our goal is to create delicious wines that express the unique character of our landscape. We trust that our wines and winemaking convey our philosophies concerning family, education and living life to its fullest.

We believe to make great wine we must take just as much responsibility for the lands we steward as the community we live in. We feel strongly that growing grapes, making wine and raising a glass is a cultural ritual that fosters friendship, brings together families, and unites communities. Good wine is not strictly the esoteric fare of nobility: Wine is for the people.

We desire to share our passion and interest in wine with everyone from the first time sipper to the seasoned enthusiast. Providing academic and hands on experiences are a big part of this desire to help people expand and trust their own senses.  Land, grapes, wine, friends, family, education and fulfillment.  Wine is within everyone’s reach!

Page Sping WineHere at Page Springs Cellars, we primarily work with Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Mourvedre. Additionally, we dabble with other red grapes such as Cabernet Pfeffer, Counoise, and Cinsault.  Our white grape loves include Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne. While you may occasionally see us blending with Cabernet Franc, Barbera or Sangiovese—the flavorful grapes of the Rhone will always be our focus.

We like to keep an open mind about winemaking.  While a good deal of what we do could be considered traditional (selective picking and sorting, small open-top fermentations, hand punch downs), there are times when the judicious use of technology can markedly improve a wine.  We generally do not fine or filter, but there are occasions when a rough filtration brightens fruit or removes rough, gritty characters. In short, we always make the best wine we can. We have a wine centered philosophy.  The market is not driving our winemaking, quality is.

Page Springs Winemaker2008 marked an important year in the history of our winery: it was the point at which more of our wines were produced from our Estate vineyards than from those in California.  With the purchase of Dos Cabezas Vineyards in Kansas Settlement, Arizona and the development of our second brand, Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, we are now able to cull the best batches for Page Springs.  Only the best examples of Arizona grapes will earn PSC bottling.  Additionally, we also picked nearly seven tons of Syrah and Petite Sirah from the vineyard next to the winery and we expect nearly ten tons in 2008! We will continue to work with some of our favorite vineyards in California, but will be cutting back on the total number of vineyards we source from as well as the total volume of Grapes.
