Carol is a native of Pennsylvania, born and raised in an old railroading town of Altoona. She studied art at Penn State University before moving to Washington State. Ten years ago Carol and her husband Alan moved to the southwest.
While in Washington, Carol attended classes for 7 years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Seattle. There she studied with the master painter Anthony Ryder.
Carol uses those years of study to educate young and old budding artists, becoming an art teacher 20 years ago. Currently she is teaching visual arts in the Cottonwood Arizona School District, Camp Verde and Sedona. She is known by all the 1st to 5th graders as Ms. Carol.
On her life travels, Carol has been to New Mexico several times. This is where she has gotten to know Georgia Okeeffe's works and to realize what a great woman artist she was. "I read her biography, she seemed so untouched by her fame. I wanted to honor her in a way she would approve. Georgia Okeeffe produced many paintings that included bones. This is why I choose this theme".
Carol also works out of her own studio in Rimrock, Arizona. Her watercolor paintings are in many private collections and have been shown in numerous state and national exhibitions.
