Meet the Artist- Richard Campbell
Born in 1949, Richard has been drawing ever since, with a keen interest in representational art. His studies have included Art History - the masters of painting thru the ages (Art Institute of Chicago), Art major at Southern Illinois University with an A.A. degree in Illustration. He began oil painting at age 15 with a private tutor and has painted in most media available.
In the early seventies, he left Illinois and traveled into the American Southwest, drawing and painting the all so inspiring landscape that he had discovered. He went on to spend 3 years in southern California, drawing pastel portraits of over 3,000 people. With that amount of practice and experience, he was able to create paintings as close to perfection as he possibly could, along with capturing the character and soulfulness of his native American subjects.
Currently he resides at his little farm in the Verde Valley of Arizona, continuing to draw and paint, and although in somewhat lighter and amusing manner. He is now able to reproduce his art digitally.
