When artist Juliet E Myers entered her spectacular watercolor work into a juried show in her home town of Lancaster, CA, USA, in 1995 and 1996 she won the Judges Choice and Cash Award for the Calendar competition. Her love for the southwest started as a young child growing up in Tucson, AZ. When her family moved to Southern California, she pursued a career as a painter and artist in watercolor, acrylic and new techniques on canvas.
Home Grown (onions), a watercolor was the Grand Prize winner in the Lancaster, CA show in 1995 Calendar Competition and it was the hands down favorite of the judges for style, color and creativity.
Juliet E Myers first attended El Camino College, Torrance, CA 1981-82. As a non-degree seeking student she furthered her studies in: Painting, drawing, wheel thrown ceramics at the Antelope Valley College in 1983-96. She further studied at New Mexico Highlands University College of Fine Arts 1997-2000.
She has continued to focus her discipline and career in painting. Her pallet of colors mixed with experimenting with the application of difference mediums on various surfaces invite the viewer to experience the world around them as a magical journey.
Juliet says “I cannot resist the temptation when I find something beautiful. I try to capture the feeling s and ideas and paint it. The first response is to make a sketch and play with those ideas. Natural light and nature are great inspirations.”
